PSA commercial paragraph

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seOQyMvG99w

This PSA is about cyber bullying. The message that it is giving out to the audience is that cyber bullying is just as bad as physical bullying, and should be stopped. The images that are most effective in getting the message across are the talent show theme of the video, this is because the theme of the video is a bit different, with the theme of the talent show and it makes the viewers think twice about saying things out loud and online. The voice script in this commercial is a bit angry, or taunting, and it’s portrayed by a young girl. There aren’t that many sound effects in the video other than the script.
These decisions effect the overall product of the PSA because if you don’t think about the script, and you have to do multiple takes, the script will probably be different in each take. And if you don’t think about the sound effects, its going to be the same as with the voice script, its going to be different. Planning out a PSA is a lot easier than just thinking on the spot when you start to film. My overall impression of the PSA is that I thought it was well planned out, and had a good message to it, and it was simple, not too many effects, and to the point.

CD cover assignment part 1

Band name: Belsand
Title of CD: the mysteries that challenge you
Style of music: rock Personality of “Belsand”: I think that they are rock, with maybe an edge, almost just like any rock band.

Rock music: defined as mainstream, started in the 1950’s. Late 1960’s – 1970’s rock music developed into different subgenres. A rock band revolves around lead singer, bass guitarist, electric guitarist, drummer, this forms a quartet.
Rock and roll evolved in the States in 1950 and spread to the rest of the world.

CD covers from other rock bands:

Led Zeppelin. CD name: Mothership. Led Zeppelin is one of the best rock bands and was a big hit in the United States.

The Beatles, CD name: Love. One of the older bands, but still right behind Led Zeppelin as the best rock band.

Aerosmith. Name of CD: Devil’s Got A New Disguise. A modern band today, and the band is popular and one of the best rock bands.

Randon Album Covers

The name of the first band is called "Cell Technology", I got it off of Wikipedia, from the page on cell technology, the CD cover is called "Before one loses him to death". I thought the band would be a techno type of band, and I placed the band name at the top, in black font, and the CD title at the bottom, separating each word, and changing the font on the last word, and changing the size.

The second band name is called "Anton". The Wikipedia page I landed on was about a painter, and I used part of the name, and came up with "Anton". The CD title is called "Little in taking hold of it". I think this band's genre is more of a electronic rock band, and for the CD title, I made the font blue and then I changed the pattern. The CD name, I changed the font every few words, emphasizing the important words.

Compositional Elements + Photos

Diagonal Lines

Diagonal lines make a photo look more real, and more pronounced. It captures the imager’s attention and view. Diagonal lines also give photos depth and the imager looks through the photo intercepting interesting parts. It also gives the photo a sense of action.

I think these photos show diagonal lines because in the first picture, it has a wall and showing diagonal lines, while the other buildings with the same lines are behind it, giving it a bit of depth. The second has a fence, which has lines, and the building behind the fence.

Texture
Texture can be defined as “the feel of an object's surface." This is an example of the way in which we often assume texture is something which must be physically felt in order to understand it. Texture is something which we feel when we interact with our surroundings. But, our understanding of texture is not limited to touch. Texture can be "felt" with our eyes also.

By Esila:

I think that these photos represent Texture because when you look at this wall and the tree, it seems like you can touch them and feel them with your hands.

Compositional photoshop exercise

For my compositional photo I chose Canadian actor/writer Paul Gross. For changing the background, first I created a new layer, background copy, and then I used the magnetic lasso tool to outline the figure, and after I outlined I copied it, and then got a new background, and then I pasted it into a different background. After I did that, the figure was too big for the background picture, so I scaled it down to fit. I chose the desert background for Paul Gross was because I figured he wouldn’t be in that particular place.
